A First!

I’m very excited. Today’s newsletter will be both the shortest I’ve ever written, but also the most expensive and time consuming one I’ve ever done.

Today I want you to learn about 3 things:

  1. How to start a firewood business with almost no money and almost 100% gross margins.
  2. How to freaking sell anything to anyone on Facebook marketplace.
  3. All other kinds of random marketing and business insights as I think of them.

I spent 6 hours and $3,500 planning and filming this video right here. I also spent 15 years learning these business lessons the hard way!

I have posted a TON about my tree trimming and firewood businesses, as well as how to hack FB Marketplace. Well, I distilled many of those learnings into this 30 minute YouTube video.

The video JUST NOW went live and it’s tracking to be my best yet already!

Is asking you to comment on YT a clever growth hack? Yes, but it doesn’t move the algorithmic needle much. Do I genuinely want/need the feedback to get better? Also yes. Leaving it on YT, positive or negative, is clean and efficient.

You see, up until this very moment all of my hundreds of YouTube videos have been talking head podcast videos.

This is my first “out and about” style video. And it was a TON of effort! And no one is sponsoring the video, aside from the paltry $200 or so I may make from it from YouTube ads.

And no, I’m not going to start “mailing it in” and merely emailing a link to a YT video for my newsletter every week. This is just a big deal for me, so I’m delivering the content this week in video format instead of written.
